Helpful Information
Extracts taken from Approved Code of Practice and Guidance covering Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The code has been approved by the Health and Safety Commission and gives good practical advice on how to comply with the law. Health and Safety inspectors seek to secure compiance with the law and may refer to this guidance as illustrating good practice. Regulation 3 (1) states 'An emplyer shall provide, or ensure that there are provided, such equipment and facilities as are adequate in the circumstances for enabling first aid to be rendered to his employees if they are injured or become ill at work.' ACOP 3 (4) states 'An employer should make an assessment of first aid needs appropriate to the circumstances of each employee.'

Therefore to select your first aid kit:
    1. Carry out a risk assessment of workplace hazzards
    2. Consider nature & distribution of workplace including travelling, remote & lone workers.
    3. Consider number of employees
