Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) was established to meet the requirements of EC Directive 80/1107/EEC. Its aim is to control the use
of substances that can be potentially damaging to health. Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL) are guidelines to the acceptable levels of exposure to various respiratory
hazards (the Health and Safety document EH40 details the OEL for many common substances). The European Standard for disposable
Filtering Facepiece (FPP) Dust Respirators is EN149. Disposable respirators have an Assigned Protection Factor (APF) as detailed in BS4275.
FFP1 classification offers APF of 4xOEL - Warehouse work, general woodworking, sanding (paint, plaster and softwood) & fibreglass installation.
FFP2 classification offers an APF of 10xOEL - Warehouse work, general woodworking, sanding (paint, plaster and softwood) & fibreglass installation, power tools & metal working.
Our 3M respirators meet these classifications & are designed with comfort in mind. The 3M Cool Flow valve offers the additional comfort of reduced heat build up through easy exhalation, to improve comfort
in hot & humid conditions whilst adhering to the APF guidelines.
